Zagreb Hosts Record-Breaking European Gymnastics Championships

The European Championships in artistic gymnastics are taking place in Zagreb's Arena from 13 to 23 August, featuring the largest ever roster of 640 athletes from 43 nations. The competition includes both men's and women's events, with 187 male gymnasts and 166 female gymnasts competing.

The field boasts numerous Olympic and World medalists, such as Italy’s Alice D’Amato and Manila Esposito, Greece’s Eleftherios Petrounias, Ireland’s Rhys McClenaghan, and newly naturalised Croatian Ilija Kovtun. Croatian representatives include Tin Srbić and other home‑grown talents who will contend for medals alongside stars from the United States, Brazil, China and beyond.

The championships mark a historic gathering for the sport, with athletes aiming to add to their collections of Olympic, World and European titles while delivering a showcase of elite gymnastics to Croatian fans.
