Zagreb hosts third Corsa dell’Amicizia to celebrate Italian Sport Day

The third edition of the ‘Corsa dell’Amicizia’ (Friendship Race) took place at Lake Jarun in Zagreb to celebrate the Italian Sport Day in the World. Organized by the Italian Embassy in Zagreb and the Italian Cultural Institute, the event brought together over 300 participants of all ages.

Italian Ambassador Paolo Trichilo noted that the race is part of a broader sports diplomacy initiative. The event was supported by several partners, including FederEsuli, the Unione Italiana, the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport, and the City of Zagreb.

In the competition, Ivan Maletić won the men's category with a time of 22 minutes and 40 seconds for the 6.3-kilometer course, while Mirjana Šimek Bilić was the first woman to finish. Awards were also presented to the youngest and oldest participants, as well as top student runners.
