Zagreb introduces temporary pedestrian zones for European Mobility Week

Zagreb is implementing temporary pedestrian zones and street closures as part of European Mobility Week, running from September 16 to 22. The initiative aims to prioritize pedestrians and cyclists over motor vehicles to promote sustainable mobility and a healthier urban environment.

Key traffic changes include the closure of Gajeva Street (from Berislavićeva to Teslina), Teslina Street (from Gajeva to Zrinjevac), and Martićeva Street (from Smičiklasova to Trg hrvatskih velikana) from Wednesday through Tuesday. In Sesvete, the parking lot at Dragutina Domjanića Square will also be closed during this period.

Additional scheduled events include the closure of Trakošćanska Street on Sunday for the ‘Trakošćanska za sve’ activity, and the closure of Ilica Street (from Frankopanska to Krajiška) for the Ilica Q’ART festival. The city will also host organized cycling and roller skating events in the central areas of Masarykova and Preradovićeva streets.
