Zagreb Marathon to cause major transport disruptions this Sunday
The 34th Zagreb Marathon and the World Veterans Marathon Championship will take place this Sunday, October 11, in Zagreb. More than 5,100 runners are expected to participate, with the start and finish lines located at Ban Jelačić Square. The veterans' championship will feature approximately 460 athletes from 41 different countries.
The event will cause significant disruptions to public transportation in Zagreb. Between 7:30 and 15:00, most tram lines will operate on altered routes, with only lines 9 and 15 maintaining regular service. Line 13 will be suspended until the marathon concludes. To compensate for these changes, ZET is introducing three extraordinary bus lines serving the Dubrava-Borongaj, Črnomerec-Magazinska, and Kaptol-Mihaljevac routes.
Race schedules include the Garmin 10K starting at 8:45, followed by the marathon, half-marathon, and relay races at 9:00. Children's races are scheduled for the preceding Saturday.
