Zagreb mystery: The case of Hedviga Golik resurfaces

A decades-old mystery involving Hedviga Golik has resurfaced on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Golik, a retired nurse, lived alone in an apartment in the Medveščak area of Zagreb.

For years, neighbors believed she had simply moved away, as her apartment doors remained locked and she had no close family or frequent contact with neighbors. Discrepancies exist regarding when she was last seen, with some reports citing 1966 and others the early 1970s.

The situation came to light in 2008 when the apartment was opened for administrative and property partitioning reasons. Upon entry, authorities discovered her body, which was estimated to have been there for several decades. The case was also marked by long-standing legal disputes regarding the ownership of the property.
