Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra performs at Dubrovnik Cathedral

The Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Dawid Runtz, performed a major concert in front of the Dubrovnik Cathedral as part of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. This event marked the orchestra's return to the festival stage after an eight-year absence.

The musical program featured a blend of American idioms and Croatian heritage. It included Leonard Bernstein’s ‘Mambo’ from West Side Story, George Gershwin’s ‘An American in Paris’, and Jakov Gotovac’s ‘Symphonic Kolo’, a significant work in Croatian orchestral literature. The performance concluded with Igor Stravinsky’s ‘The Rite of Spring’, a demanding 20th-century masterpiece.
