Zagreb police investigate death of Brazilian national in hotel

Zagreb police have stated that no elements of a criminal offense have been identified in the death of 28-year-old Brazilian national Kathlyn Izabel Becker, who was found dead in a hotel room on August 22. While authorities claim the death was not the result of a crime, a criminal investigation remains ongoing in cooperation with the County State Attorney's Office.

The victim's family has raised concerns regarding potential human trafficking. According to reports, Becker traveled from Brazil in April to seek employment in Serbia. After finding the position unavailable, she was reportedly brought to Croatia by unknown individuals. Her family claims she had received threats prior to her death and is seeking a thorough investigation into the circumstances of her arrival in Europe and her subsequent death.
