Zagreb selects HIS-led consortium for Jakuševec landfill management
The City of Zagreb has selected a consortium led by the company HIS to manage, maintain, and construct subsystems at the Jakuševec waste landfill. The winning bid, totaling 48.97 million euros excluding VAT, was submitted by a group including HIS, Eko-Flor Plus, C. I. A. K., and Tigra.
This consortium has managed the site for the past four years under a previous agreement valued at approximately 23.5 million euros. The significant increase in the new contract value is attributed to the expanded scope of work, which now includes extensive construction projects such as reinforcing slopes affected by landslides and explosions, shaping specific landfill areas, and installing geomembrane covers.
The decision was made by Mayor Tomislav Tomašević on October 6 and published in the Electronic Public Procurement Bulletin. As the only bid received, the proposal was evaluated as valid and economically most favorable. The city will enter into a four-year framework agreement, with tasks to be ordered through Zagrebački holding.
