Zagreb theatres expand reach with international performances and new musical auditions

The Zagreb theatre scene is seeing significant activity with both international performances and new production announcements. The Zagreb Youth Theatre (ZKM) recently performed its production ‘Jezik kopačke’ at the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) in Stockholm as part of the Bergman Festival. The play, which explores themes of sports, dehumanization, capitalism, and depression, received enthusiastic reviews from Swedish audiences and critics.

Meanwhile, the Komedija Theatre in Zagreb has announced auditions for its upcoming musical production, ‘Redovnice nastupaju’. Auditions are scheduled for October 2, 2026, at the Komedija Theatre Kontesa club. The theatre is seeking performers for several key roles, including Deloris Van Cartier, Mother Superior, Sister Mary Robert, Sister Mary Patrick, and Eddie Souther.
