Unions representing workers at Zagrebački holding and ZET have announced a strike scheduled to begin on September 28 at 3:30 AM. The decision follows the failure of formal mediation processes, which were terminated on September 10.

The dispute centers on new collective agreements. Unions are demanding increased material rights, including higher base salaries, improved transport allowances, and changes to coefficients. Specifically, unions requested a 15 percent base salary increase for ZET and 12 percent for Zagrebački holding. They also seek longer-term agreements to ensure stability.

Management has rejected these demands, stating that meeting them in their current form would incur approximately 30 million euros in new costs for each company. The companies have offered a 4.5 percent increase in the base salary, along with plans to introduce wage indexation based on consumer price changes starting in 2027. Management maintains that current employee earnings have already significantly increased since 2021.
