Zagreb's Green River Festival Returns to Sava River

The Green River Festival is back in Zagreb, transforming the banks of the Sava River into a month‑long summer venue throughout July. Organized by the NGO Priroda za sve, the event blends music, film screenings, literature, workshops and a sustainable gastronomy program, with stages constructed from recycled materials. Daily programming includes open‑air cinema on Mondays, literary‑music evenings on Tuesdays, creative workshops on Wednesdays, a "Demo Thursday" showcasing emerging bands and tribute concerts, and concerts and dance events on other weekdays. Highlights feature a Depeche Mode tribute, African‑beat workshops, a Balkan LOVE photographic exhibition and an evening art bazaar.

The festival emphasizes sustainability, using handmade recycled structures and promoting eco‑friendly food and drinks such as the Green River cocktail and Lopoč pizza. Admission is free and the program is designed to attract both locals and visitors seeking an alternative summer experience in the city.
