Poland emergency services conduct drills and respond to various incidents

Poland has seen a surge in emergency response activities, ranging from large-scale civil defense drills to tragic individual incidents. Various regions conducted training exercises to improve readiness for crises, including air attack threats in Skarżysko-Kamienna, mass event security at a stadium in Włocławek, and railway emergency scenarios in Legnica. Other drills, such as “Salamandra 2026” in Gniewkowo and “Kaolin 2026” in Nowogrodziec, focused on forest fires, sabotage, and technical rescue coordination.

Tragically, several incidents involving elderly citizens were reported. A 90-year-old man was rescued in Piwniczna-Zdrój after becoming disoriented, while an 80-year-old woman was found safe in Polkowice. However, other cases ended in fatality, including a 73-year-old man in the Susa County forest and a 49-year-old woman in Uścianek Wielki, where carbon monoxide poisoning was suspected. Additionally, a 56-year-old Italian hunter died following a gunshot incident in Daleszyce.

Public safety initiatives also included police education for seniors in Błażowa regarding online fraud and a nationwide civil defense program in Mazowieckie teaching resuscitation and shelter-seeking. In Żywiec, the State Fire Service has officially taken over responsibility for alerting residents to aerial threats.
