Brad Pitt's children Zahara and Maddox seek to drop “Pitt” surname
Zahara Jolie‑Pitt (21) and her brother Maddox (24) have filed petitions to legally remove their father’s surname. Under California law they each published a notice of their name‑change request in the Los Angeles Daily Journal for four consecutive weeks – Zahara on June 16, 23, 30 and July 7; Maddox on June 10, 17, 24 and July 1. Their hearings are scheduled for September 28 (Zahara) and September 14 (Maddox). If no objections are filed, a judge could approve the changes to Zahara Marley Jolie and Maddox Chivan Jolie.
The siblings join sister Shiloh, who legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie in 2024, and younger sister Vivienne, who has already been credited as Vivienne Jolie. The moves come amid a long‑running family rift after Angelina Jolie’s 2016 divorce from Brad Pitt, which included allegations of abuse, a protracted custody battle and the recent conclusion of a joint‑custody agreement now that all children are adults.
