Zainab Ansell recognized for leadership in African tourism

Zainab Ansell, founder and CEO of Zara Tanzania Adventures, has received multiple high-profile recognitions for her leadership in the African tourism sector. At the third edition of the Africa’s 100 Most Influential Persons awards held in Kigali, Ansell was honored for her professional achievements and contributions to continental development.

Additionally, Zara Tanzania Adventures has been named Africa’s Leading Adventure Tour Operator at the World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year, following its 2025 win. The company provides expeditions on Mount Kilimanjaro and wildlife safaris in the Serengeti.

Ansell’s work emphasizes sustainable and community-focused tourism. Through Zara Tanzania Adventures, she has implemented programs to support Maasai women’s crafts and provided health insurance for 1,200 porters. In September 2026, she was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
