Zajezdnia History Center to host discussion on John Paul II’s 1983 pilgrimage

The Zajezdnia History Center is hosting a meeting centered on the book ‘Musicie od siebie wymagać…’ (You Must Demand of Yourselves...) by Professor Paweł Skibiński. The book examines the significance of Pope John Paul II’s second pilgrimage to Poland in June 1983.

The discussion will explore the impact of the Pope’s words during the period of martial law, a time marked by political, economic, and social crises in Poland. The event aims to analyze the spiritual and moral support provided by the pilgrimage and its specific connection to Wrocław.

Participants include historian and political scientist Paweł Skibiński, a former director of the Museum of John Paul II and Primate Wyszyński, and Dr. Wojciech Kucharski, a historian and archaeologist from the ‘Memory and Future’ Center.
