Collingwood makes massive $14.4m offer for Port Adelaide's Zak Butters

Collingwood has reportedly made an aggressive financial bid to sign Port Adelaide midfielder Zak Butters. The offer is estimated to be worth approximately $1.8 million per season, potentially spanning an eight-year contract with a total value of roughly $14.4 million.

Collingwood CEO Craig Kelly confirmed interest in the 25-year-old, who is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season. While Collingwood is pursuing the superstar, other AFL clubs including Richmond, Geelong, and the Western Bulldogs are also reportedly interested in his services.

Port Adelaide coach Josh Carr expressed dissatisfaction with Collingwood’s public approach, describing it as “disrespectful” to the player and the club. Because Butters holds restricted free-agent status, Port Adelaide maintains the right to match any official offer to retain him.
