Zakaria Labyad discusses injury recovery and Corinthians contract renewal

Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad has discussed his recovery process and his contract extension with Corinthians following a serious knee injury. Labyad is currently recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus injury in his left knee.

In an interview with Corinthians TV, Labyad noted that his medical progress has exceeded expectations. He stated that three weeks after his surgery, his specialist expressed surprise at the speed and quality of his evolution. He credited the club’s medical department for his positive development.

Despite the injury, the club has demonstrated confidence in the player by renewing his contract until the end of 2027. Labyad mentioned that while contract discussions were not explicit before the injury, the club's leadership, including the president and management, reaffirmed their desire to keep him as part of the team's long-term plans.
