Zakopane begins installing ice tracks for ski jumping season

Preparations for the winter ski jumping season have begun in Zakopane. COS-OPO Zakopane has initiated the installation of ice tracks at the Wielka Krokiew (HS140) and the Średnia Krokiew complex to facilitate hybrid training.

The first stage of work is expected to conclude in early October. Ice tracks on the Wielka Krokiew are scheduled to be operational by October 3, followed by tracks on the HS105, HS70, HS40, and HS25 objects on October 5. This setup allows athletes to use ice runways while landing on igelit, simulating winter conditions during the summer months.

Zakopane is set to host the Polish Summer Championships on October 16 and 17. The event will feature an individual competition on Saturday and a duet competition on Sunday. If the schedule holds, athletes may utilize the newly installed ice tracks during these championships.
