Zakopane experiences tourism boom driven by lower September prices

Zakopane is experiencing a significant tourism boom this September, driven by lower costs and a shift in traveler behavior. According to the Tatra Chamber of Commerce, accommodation prices in the region are up to 30 percent lower than during the peak summer season, attracting budget-conscious travelers and families.

Many tourists are now planning their autumn trips well in advance, with some reservations made up to 90 days ahead. This trend makes arrivals more resilient to short-term weather fluctuations. In addition to individual leisure travelers, the region is seeing high activity from corporate groups, conferences, and training sessions, which are major drivers of the autumn season.

Factors contributing to the current success include the appeal of autumn landscapes, reduced crowds on hiking trails, and travelers opting for September to avoid the high prices and congestion of July and August. Recent weekends have seen high demand, including sold-out parking for major trailheads like Morskie Oko.
