Zakynthos and Toledo report separate emergency incidents involving tourists

In Zakynthos, Greece, a 26-year-old Portuguese tourist was successfully resuscitated after undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for approximately 79 minutes. The man was found unconscious in the sea near Korithi. A coordinated effort involving local swimmers, a private boat captain, a private physician, and EKAV emergency responders allowed for continuous life-saving measures until his vital functions were restored. He is currently in critical but stable condition, intubated in the intensive care unit of Zakynthos General Hospital.

In Toledo, Spain, a tourist train accident occurred when a driverless tourist train began moving uncontrollably while parked near the Alcázar. The vehicle struck a 44-year-old Italian tourist, causing an injury to his hand, before crashing into a wall in the Alcázar gardens. The collision caused a section of the wall to collapse. Authorities are investigating a potential brake failure as the primary cause of the incident. The injured tourist was treated by a mobile intensive care unit and remains in stable condition at the University Hospital of Toledo.
