Zakynthos Municipality updates status of Municipal Stadium works

The Municipality of Zakynthos has issued a statement regarding the progress of works at the Municipal Stadium, aiming to make it one of the few licensed stadiums in Greece. The local authority stated that the installation of the artificial turf is expected to be completed within a few days.

While acknowledging the frustration of sports fans regarding the return of APS Zakynthos to its home ground, the Municipality emphasized that it is managing the necessary procedures and works independently using its own resources. The administration noted that it is working in cooperation with the team to meet the licensing requirements of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) and Super League 2.

The Municipality also addressed recent tensions, stating it will not accept the occupation of municipal buildings or the closure of the Town Hall, which would obstruct public services. Officials called on the team's management to support municipal employees and work toward a collaborative solution to ensure the team can play at its home stadium as soon as possible.
