Zakynthos secures capital amid coaching change as Ajax nears Ounahi deal
In Greek football, APS Zakynthos is experiencing significant administrative and technical shifts. Administratively, the club has successfully raised the necessary share capital and secured a letter of guarantee, bringing it closer to submitting its full file for participation in the new league. The management has also reportedly paid off 50% of the previous PAE's debt.
On the technical side, coach Giannis Apostolidis has departed the club following a meeting with management due to differences in philosophy. This follows recent challenges regarding the team's stadium and frequent relocations.
In international transfer news, Ajax is making significant progress in signing Moroccan midfielder Azzedine Ounahi from Girona. Reports suggest Ajax has offered over €13 million for 75% of his rights. The club is working to meet the player's salary requirements, which were previously cited as high as €4 million annually, by offering a package including a €2.5 million annual salary and a signing bonus. Medical examinations are expected to take place shortly.
