Zakynthos teachers' association alleges concealment of school vacancies

The Zakynthos branch of the Secondary Education Teachers' Association (ELME) has accused the Directorate of Secondary Education of Zakynthos of concealing job vacancies from newly appointed teachers. The dispute follows the release of official tables on August 26 intended for school unit selection.

According to the association, the published lists do not reflect the true number of available positions. Specifically, ELME claims that two vacancies for mathematics teachers and seven vacancies for philologists in regional schools were omitted from the documentation.

The association argues that this lack of transparency violates the rights of new teachers, as certain unlisted schools offer higher point values that are crucial for future transfers to teachers' places of residence.
