Zalgiris Kaunas recalls Keenan Evans from London Lions loan
Zalgiris Kaunas has officially recalled American guard Keenan Evans from his loan spell with the London Lions. The decision follows an injury to Zalgiris's starting playmaker, Nigel Williams-Goss, who requires time to recover.
Evans, who previously played for Olympiacos, had signed a two-year contract with Zalgiris last summer but was loaned to the London Lions to regain rhythm following several serious injuries, including two Achilles ruptures and an ACL tear. During his time with the Lions in the EuroCup, Evans averaged 11.8 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in four matches, averaging approximately 25 minutes per game.
Zalgiris President Paulius Jankunas stated that the club needed an immediate solution and noted that Evans is already familiar with the organization. While acknowledging that Evans may still need time to reach peak form following his injury history, Jankunas emphasized that the player is intended to bolster the team's rotation rather than serve as a singular savior.
