Zalo rolls out two‑factor login alerts after Ca Mau police fraud warning

Vietnam’s Zalo messaging app has introduced a two‑factor authentication and device‑alert feature to help users block unauthorized logins. The system automatically monitors login attempts from new devices, requiring an OTP sent to the registered phone number and sending an emergency notification to the user’s existing device.

The Ca Mau provincial police urged residents to activate the feature immediately, citing a rise in online scams that target Zalo accounts. Detailed steps were provided for enabling the protection, which includes switching on the “Two‑layer security” toggle in the app’s settings.
