Zalo users urged to check for unauthorized access and secure accounts

Zalo, a widely used messaging app in Vietnam, has become a target for malicious actors seeking to monitor or hijack user accounts. Signs of possible monitoring include unexpected login notifications, messages automatically marked as "read," deleted or altered conversations, and the appearance of messages you did not send.

Users are advised to open the app’s Settings → Account & Security → Login Devices, review the list of linked phones, computers or browsers, log out any unfamiliar devices, and immediately change their password to a strong one (minimum eight characters with mixed case, numbers and symbols). Checking recent logout history can also reveal past unauthorized access. Implementing these steps helps protect personal data and prevent further intrusion.
