Zalo users warned of signs of remote account monitoring

Users of the Zalo messaging app may be able to identify signs of remote monitoring or unauthorized account access. Key indicators include messages appearing as ‘read’ before being opened, messages being deleted or recalled unexpectedly, receiving login notifications for new devices, and seeing unrecognized hardware listed in the account’s active device list.

Because Zalo accounts often contain sensitive information such as work communications, identification documents, and banking details, they are frequent targets for scammers. If an account is compromised, unauthorized users may use it to send fraudulent loan requests or malicious links to contacts. Users can manage security by navigating to the ‘Account and Security’ section within the app to view and log out unrecognized devices.
