Zalo users warned to monitor security alerts for unauthorized access

Users of the Zalo messaging platform are advised to pay close attention to specific security notifications to prevent account hijacking and remote monitoring. According to the Hue City Police, Zalo issues automated alerts when unusual activity is detected, such as logins from unrecognized devices or unusual locations.

There are two primary types of critical alerts: ‘Are you the one logging in?’ and ‘Did you just log in?’. If these prompts appear and the user is not the one performing the action, they are advised to select ‘Security Check’, then ‘Not me’, and immediately use the ‘Block now’ or ‘Log out immediately’ options to secure the account.

Common causes for these security risks include failing to log out of public devices, losing access to the registered phone number or email, or clicking on malicious links containing viruses or malware.
