Zamalek appoints new sporting director after John Edward resignation
John Edward resigned as Zamalek Sporting Club's sporting director following a board dispute. The club's board, chaired by Captain Hussein Labib, accepted his resignation, thanked him for his work and announced a farewell ceremony.
Zamalek confirmed that Motamed Gamal will retain his role as head coach for the 2026/27 season and will be given full authority over first‑team affairs.
