Zamalek cuts FIFA cases and clears Ahmed Jaffali dispute

The Egyptian club Zamalek has made progress in resolving a series of financial disputes with FIFA. The governing body reopened a case involving former Portuguese coach José Gómez after the club submitted settlement documents, and Zamalek has settled outstanding claims linked to former assistants, players Samson Akinnola, and other foreign clubs.

FIFA has now reduced the number of pending cases against Zamalek to 13 and removed Tunisian striker Ahmed Jaffali from the list. Jaffali, who was on loan at Saudi side Abha, claimed an $80,000 shortfall in his salary, a dispute that contributed to a registration ban on new signings. The club’s administration says the latest steps aim to end all remaining FIFA actions, restore full player registration rights, and focus on domestic and continental competitions.
