Zamalek and Al Ahly kick off pre‑season training for upcoming Egyptian football season

Zamalek Sporting Club began its pre‑season camp on 1 August 2026 at a facility in the New Administrative Capital. Head coach Moataz Gamel led the first training session, emphasizing physical conditioning and tactical work ahead of a schedule that includes the Egyptian Premier League, Egypt Cup, Cairo Cup, the local Super Cup and the CAF Champions League. Club chairman Hussein Labib held a motivational meeting with the players, urging focus and commitment.

Al Ahly (Bank Al Ahly) also continued its preparations in Cairo under coach Ayman Ramadi. The squad is training ahead of the league start and will play a friendly against Tala'ea El‑Gaish. The team recently recorded a 3‑0 friendly win over UAE side Dibba Al‑Fujairah, with goals from Ahmed Amin Oufa, Yao Anwar and Sid Neymar. Chairman Ashraf Nassar addressed rumours about the transfer fee for defender Amr Al‑Jazar, denying the reported 60 million‑EGP figure.

Both clubs aim to field strong squads for a demanding domestic and continental campaign.
