Zamalek legend criticizes club management and youth academy

Former Zamalek star Walid Salah Abdel Latif has called for a strategic overhaul of Zamalek SC’s management, specifically criticizing the current handling of the youth academy. He argued that the club is losing talented young players at inappropriate times and emphasized the need for better evaluation before promoting players to the first team.

Abdel Latif noted that the club appears to be operating more as an investment entity rather than a championship-focused club, a shift he believes must be addressed to restore competitiveness.

Regarding player transfers, Abdel Latif stated he would support the sale of Brazilian player Juan Bezerra if an offer of approximately $6 million were received. He also commented on the potential transfer of Hossam Abdel Majeed to Al Ahly, noting that in football, such a move cannot be ruled out ahead of the January transfer window.
