Zamalek reaches settlement talks with Salah Mosaad to lift registration ban

Egyptian club Zamalek entered negotiations with Moroccan forward Salah Mosaad and his agent over an estimated $800,000 debt that triggered a two‑season registration ban by FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Zamalek offered an initial $200,000 payment, with the balance to be paid in installments over three to four months, while Mosaad insists on receiving half the total amount immediately, with the remainder due in August.

Mosaad’s legal team has filed a request to postpone the CAS hearing, signalling a move toward an amicable resolution. The club hopes that a settlement will persuade the arbitration body to reduce or suspend the sanction, allowing Zamalek to complete new signings and meet the Confederation of African Football (CAF) licensing requirements ahead of the upcoming Champions League campaign.
