Zamalek SC faces AS Port in CAF Champions League opener

Zamalek SC is set to begin its CAF Champions League campaign with a first-round preliminary match against Djibouti's AS Port. The match is scheduled to take place at Cairo International Stadium at 8:00 PM.

Under the leadership of coach Moatamed Gamal, Zamalek aims to secure a decisive victory in the first leg to gain an advantage heading into the return leg, which is also scheduled to be held in Cairo on September 12. This arrangement, agreed upon by both clubs, provides Zamalek with the home-field advantage for both fixtures.

Zamalek returns to the competition following their Egyptian Premier League title win last season. The technical staff has been focusing on tactical improvements, specifically positioning and transition speed, following a recent 2-1 domestic league victory over Petrojet.
