Zamalek SC fines Ahmed Foutouh following Rwanda trip incident

Zamalek SC has imposed a fine of 500,000 Egyptian pounds on left-back Ahmed Foutouh following an incident during the team’s recent trip to Rwanda. The club stated the disciplinary action was taken to enforce internal regulations and ensure player commitment during foreign travels.

The incident occurred after a match against Rwanda Patriotic Club, when Foutouh and teammate Mostafa El-Zenary visited a venue that was reportedly a nightlife spot rather than the permitted shopping mall. Foutouh and his agent, Samir Salah, clarified that the player believed he had permission to go out, though the permission was restricted to a specific area near the hotel.

Foutouh addressed the situation, noting he encountered fans at the venue and chose to leave to avoid confrontation. While the club sought an apology to the fans, Foutouh declined, maintaining he had not intentionally wronged anyone. Despite the controversy, the club confirmed there is no suspension in place, and the player remains part of the squad as they prepare for their upcoming league match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
