Zambezi Region to host Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia in 2027

The Zambezi Region in Namibia has welcomed the announcement that it will host the Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia pageants in 2027. Traditional authorities, including the Masubia and Mayeyi leadership, have expressed support for the event, noting it provides a platform to showcase regional culture, traditional crafts like clay pots and mats, and local languages.

Local leaders and organizers emphasized the potential for economic growth. The hosting is expected to benefit the creative and tourism sectors, providing opportunities for fashion designers, artisans, and entrepreneurs to showcase handmade products to a national audience. The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) also noted the event's potential for regional economic benefits.

While welcoming the news, the Masubia Traditional Authority urged the broadcaster to maintain strict editorial standards to ensure community unity and expressed a desire for increased focus on local storytelling and poetry programs.
