Zambia Association of Musicians backs President Hichilema

The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has announced its support for President Hakainde Hichilema’s second term. ZAM spokesperson Edmond Miti stated that the association aims to work with the administration to transition the creative sector from an informal “hustle” into a structured, sustainable industry.

ZAM expressed a desire for stronger government partnerships to address key issues, including the protection of intellectual property, the welfare of creative professionals, and the safety of artists. The association noted that economic stability and education investments are vital for the industry, as artists rely on audiences with disposable income.
