Zambia election campaign: Leaders urge voters to shun PF revival and recycled party options
Socialist Party President Dr. Fred M’membe warned Zambians that voting for either the United Party for National Development (UPND) or the Tonse Alliance would merely recycle the same leadership and fail to address pressing issues such as the cost of living, jobs and service delivery. He urged citizens to consider alternatives and judge parties by their policies and track record rather than slogans.
President Hakainde Hichilema, campaigning for the UPND, cautioned voters against supporting inexperienced candidates or reviving the Patriotic Front (PF). He warned that backing Brian Mundubile and his allies would amount to “exhuming” the problems the PF left behind in 2021, and urged support for the UPND while rejecting the PF legacy.
