Zambia exports reach US$13.3 billion, driving logistics growth

Zambia’s export economy reached US$13.3 billion in 2025, representing an 18.2% increase from 2024. This growth follows a broader upward trend from US$11.2 billion in 2021. Major trading partners include Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This economic activity is driving significant demand within Zambia’s logistics sector, which is projected to reach a value of US$381 million. Key drivers for the logistics market include increased copper production and mineral exports, which require heavy bulk transportation and optimized cross-border corridors.

Additionally, the expanding agribusiness sector is creating a need for temperature-controlled cold chain solutions for grains and fresh produce. The rise of retail and e-commerce is further increasing demand for modern warehousing, distribution centers, and last-mile delivery services.
