Zambia Police recover stolen cattle in Malawi operation

Zambian police conducted a cross-border operation into Malawi to recover stolen livestock. Following the theft of 20 cattle from a farmer in the Chama District of Zambia's Eastern Province, investigations led officers to Mzimba District in Malawi.

During the operation, officers recovered 15 of the stolen cattle and arrested three Malawian nationals: Justin Phiri, 31, Waluza Mumba, 38, and Daniel Mtonga, 31. The suspects admitted to stealing the animals and handing them over to an individual identified as Prince in the Eltini area. One animal had previously been recovered by the farmer near the border, bringing the total recovered to 16. The suspects face charges for being in possession of livestock stolen outside of Malawi.
