Zambian businesses receive investments for honey production and solar energy
Several investment initiatives are targeting infrastructure and energy access in Zambia. Inside Capital Partners has made a strategic investment in Wuchi Wami, a producer of single-origin Miombo honey. The funding is intended to scale processing infrastructure, expand regional retail presence, and integrate more rural smallholder beekeepers into the formal supply chain.
Separately, the impact investment firm Acumen has invested $5 million in Sun King’s Zambian subsidiary. This capital is aimed at expanding off-grid solar operations to help close the country’s electricity-access gap. The investment is expected to help Sun King provide energy access to nearly 5.6 million people over the next five years, including up to 4.5 million people in Zambia.
