Zambian Candidate Brian Mundubile Accuses Leader of Holding 800 Mining Licences and Demands Release of National Survey

At a campaign rally in Mufumbwe, NRP‑UP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile alleged that a single individual controls roughly 800 mining licences in Zambia, calling the concentration of licences evidence of greed and mismanagement of the country’s mineral wealth.

Mundubile also said a nationwide geological survey funded with taxpayers’ money has been kept secret and urged President Hakainde Hichilema to publish the report so all Zambians can see the mineral potential of their districts. He pledged that, if elected on Aug 13, his administration would review the licences, cancel the 800 held by the unnamed individual and make the survey data publicly available.
