Zambia's Brian Mundubile projected to secure over 70% in August 2026 presidential election

The projection is based on widespread public discontent with incumbent President Hakainde Hichilema’s United Party for National Development (UPND) administration, citing high living costs, chronic load‑shedding, perceived corruption, and unpopular economic policies. Large crowds have rallied behind Mundubile nationwide, while the ruling party has limited its public appearances. Analysts note that even though NRPUP lacks candidates in about 72 constituencies, the overall momentum and voter frustration could translate into a decisive landslide.
