Zambia's Copperbelt rally urges voters ahead of Aug 13 election

Presidential candidate Brian Mundubile addressed thousands of supporters at the final Copperbelt campaign rally in Chingola on Monday, calling for a new direction after the province’s clear stance ahead of the August 13 general election. He highlighted job creation, mining opportunities for youth, cost‑of‑living relief and improved service delivery as priorities for a potential NRPUP government, and appealed for peace, unity and high voter turnout.

Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo also spoke at the rally, rejecting “paid prophecies” and urging voters to judge parties on their track record. He referenced past gassing incidents in Chingola, noted the release of suspects, and cited police‑housing projects as an achievement of the Patriotic Front. Kampyongo concluded by endorsing Mundubile for president and urging a strong turnout on election day.
