Zamość to host premiere of Home Army documentary ‘Podkowa: ostatni rajd’

The World Association of Home Army Soldiers (ŚZŻAK), Zamość District, has announced the premiere of the documentary film ‘Podkowa: ostatni rajd’. The event is scheduled for September 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Stylowy Film Culture Center in Zamość.

Directed and written by Rafał Kołodziejczyk, the documentary explores the life of Tadeusz Kuncewicz, known by the pseudonym ‘Podkowa’, a legendary commander of the Zamość Home Army Inspectorate. The film utilizes a non-traditional format, combining historical facts with staged reconstructions and illustrative animations. Filming took place in the Zamość region at authentic locations where Kuncewicz’s unit operated.

The premiere will include a film screening followed by a discussion panel featuring the creators. Admission is free, with tickets available at the Stylowy Film Culture Center box office. The project is part of the association's ongoing efforts to preserve national memory and provide historical education regarding the Home Army's activities in the region.
