Zamora and Tampico municipal authorities finalize land transfers
In Zamora, Ecuador, the municipality has officially finalized the donation of 22,000 square meters of land where the iconic Giant Clock is located. The property was donated by the Márquez Hurtado family, fulfilling the wishes of the late Luis Emilio Márquez Pacheco and Susana Hurtado. This legal transfer incorporates the space into the municipal heritage, allowing for future community development and conservation projects.
In Tampico, Mexico, the City Council approved the restitution of a 3,580-square-meter plot to the municipal estate. The land, located in the Colinas de San Gerardo subdivision, had previously been donated to Infonavit for housing construction. However, following a decree by the Government of Tamaulipas that revoked the original donation agreement because the housing project did not materialize, the council voted unanimously to return the land to municipal ownership.
