Zamora FC supporter killed in Barinas, Venezuela
A Zamora FC supporter, identified as 31-year-old Luis Rafael López, was killed on November 1 near the Agustín Tovar stadium in Barinas, Venezuela. The incident occurred prior to a Liga FUTVE 2 match between Zamora FC B and Deportivo Lara.
Reports indicate that López was allegedly ambushed, chased, and stabbed by several individuals. While the visiting supporters of Deportivo Lara were officially prohibited from entering the stadium due to previous violence, reports suggest they arrived in two buses and engaged in aggression against Zamora supporters. Following the attack, the match was suspended.
National Guard officials reportedly intercepted the buses and detained 91 individuals, consisting of 74 men (including six adolescents) and 17 women, who were placed at the disposal of the Cicpc. Both Zamora FC and Deportivo Lara have condemned the violence. Deportivo Lara issued a statement distancing the club from the perpetrators, asserting that aggressive fans do not represent the institution.
