Zamora Provincial Council approves rural infrastructure and service subsidies
The Provincial Council of Zamora has approved several subsidy programs aimed at improving infrastructure and services in small municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants.
In terms of water infrastructure, the institution has mobilized 2,530,843 euros to renovate hydraulic networks. A significant portion of these funds will be used in Benavente to replace old piping on Calle Progreso, addressing issues with leaks and pressure loss. Other beneficiaries include Camarzana de Tera, Uña de Quintana, and Santa María de la Vega, where funds will be used to replace fibrocement pipes and repair damaged sections.
Additionally, the Council has allocated approximately 250,000 euros to modernize twelve municipal bars in rural areas. These establishments serve as vital social hubs in small villages that lack private hospitality services. President Javier Faúndez Domínguez indicated that the institution intends to continue this support with a new call for applications in 2027.
