Spanish municipalities reinforce security for local festivities

Various Spanish municipalities are implementing security and medical measures for ongoing local festivities. In León, the City Council and Government Subdelegation have coordinated a special security device for San Froilán 2026. The Local Police will deploy all personnel between September 23 and October 5, focusing on high-concentration areas and conducting alcohol and drug controls at city entrances.

In Hellín, Albacete, authorities have reinforced security for the Feria de Hellín, which runs from September 26 to October 4. The deployment includes the National Police, Civil Guard, and local emergency services to manage large crowds and monitor roads for impaired driving.

In Cuenca, the San Mateo festivities have seen significant medical activity. During the weekend of September 19-20, municipal health services recorded multiple interventions, including 16 cases on Saturday and 19 on Sunday. These incidents primarily involved minor traumas, abrasions, and dizziness, with two individuals requiring hospital transfers due to head trauma and fainting. The city has also reinforced its police presence with officers from Ciudad Real to manage the celebrations.
