Zamora water authority implements flood prevention measures

The Sistema de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Zamora (SAPAZ) has implemented preventive measures in Zamora, Michoacán, due to weather conditions associated with Hurricane Polo. The agency is conducting permanent monitoring of drains, canals, and the Duero River, while ensuring the operation of pumping stations.

Director Joel Romero Quiroz reported that operational staff are prepared to respond to potential flooding. Maintenance work, including the use of Vactor equipment to clean storm drains and sanitary sewage networks, is underway to improve infrastructure and rainwater flow. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid disposing of trash in streets and drains to prevent blockages.
